Consign with Colors

When you consign with Colors Consignment, you'll work with a friendly, knowledgeable staff who make it their priority to sell your gently used furniture, lighting, and home decor quickly and for a fair market price. We actively market our consignments through a variety of media to ensure maximum exposure. Our designers strategically display your merchandise in one of our showrooms' stylish vignettes, creating the perfect backdrop to showcase your piece.

So, how do I start?

First, contact one of our consignment specialists at (480) 816-1703 or send us an email at liz@ilovecolors.net. When sending an email, please include "Consignment Inquiry" in the subject line, your contact information and pictures of your pieces for faster service. After we evaluate your pieces and determine whether or not we can accept them, we will issue a contract. You may either drop off your pieces or schedule a pick-up with our delivery manager. The delivery manager will quote a pick-up fee.

 

CONSIGNMENT CONTRACT TERMS

Consignor agrees to consign their personal item(s) with Colors Consignment for a minimum of 90 days and that a per item surcharge may apply for items that require additional handling such as storage, cleaning, or repair. Colors establishes the original selling price of each item consigned based on a standard formula it applies to the products it accepts. Colors periodically runs sales to attract customers and to move merchandise and that discounts may be offered over the course of the 90 day term. Colors Consignment pays consignors 50% of the selling price, payable on monthly basis for items sold in the prior month when there is at least $30 in the account. If the consignor prefers store credit of 50%, it must be noted on the contract. Colors will issue payment or credit on or about the 15th of each month for sales that occurred in the prior month. Items that are consigned for sale on internet sites other than Colors Consignment website, are paid 40% cmonission on net proceeds from sale. After ninety (90) days in inventory, Consignor has the option of retrieving (within 10 days of the 90-day anniversary) unsold items, or donating them to Colors for disposal at their discretion. Such disposal, it is agreed, will be without further notice to the consignor and without liability to Colors. Consignor affirms they have complete title to the merchandise consigned with Colors and that they hold Colors harmless from loss to my consigned property from damages by fire, theft, accident or any other cause. Colors assumes no liability for items sold. A per item surcharge may apply for items that require additional handling such as storage, cleaning or repair.

 

WHAT WE ACCEPT

Colors accepts furnishings that are in "like new" condition and typically less than 10 years of age. The items must be of a good quality construction, have minimal wear and tear, and is of a style that would be of interest to a large number of customers.

Case Goods (Tables, bookcases, bedroom furniture, etc)

  • 10 years old or newer (exceptions made on a case-by-case basis)
  • Solid wood construction preferred, although some veneered plywood or particle board items will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
  • Must be from a smoke-free home. No water stains, discoloration, or noticeable scratches on the primary surfaces.
  • Glass & mirrors must be free of scratches and chips.
  • No broken or missing hardware/pieces. Doors and drawers must operate smoothly and close correctly.
  • Antique furniture which has been meticulously maintained or recently restored, and are in like-new will be considered. We also accept antique reproductions if they are 10 years old or less and are in excellent condition.

Upholstered Furniture (Sofas, Chairs, Recliners, etc.)

  • Typically 8 years old or newer.
  • Brand name or custom upholstered.
  • Upholstery must be absolutely clean, no apparent wear, and odor free. No stains. No faded or sun-bleached areas. No pet hair. No tears. Must be from non-smoking home.
  • Cushions and pillows must show no sagging or be out of shape. When sitting down, the cushion and springs must be firm and supportive
  • Finish of wood or metal trim should be smooth and consistent in color.
  • No broken or missing parts
  • Mechanical movements must operate smoothly (i.e. recliners, hide-a-beds, massage chairs)
